American Defense Forces (ADF) is designed to be highly decentralized, allowing
American citizens to respond most effectively to local
situations. To understand ADF it is important to understand
key aspects of the organizational structure.
ADF is
an organization that encourages American citizens to volunteer
on their own behalf for America. ADF does not authorize any
individuals to act on ADF's behalf or as representatives of ADF.
ADF is a
network of patriotic American citizens ready to assist
their fellow Americans in crisis situations such as natural
disasters, lawlessness, societal breakdown and attacks on the
United States. ADF's goal is to provide the means for
concerned American citizens to network, communicate and
coordinate volunteer activities. ADF provides an
online community where Americans can
network with other Americans to further these goals.
The structure, or lack thereof by design, imbues many
advantages, to include:
American
citizens can respond most effectively and immediately to local
situations, without oversight or delay from a centralized
office.
There
are no membership dues, fees or the like.
It's
easy to volunteer and to recruit volunteers. Patriotic
Americans can volunteer when able or when needed, without
formal paperwork, forms, etc.
It's
easy to form/organize volunteer groups to respond to local situations.
Individuals
are not liable for the activities of other volunteers. And ADF
is not liable for the activities of volunteers.
In a worst case scenario
(foreign invasion, societal breakdown, epic natural disaster,
etc.), where means of communications have been disrupted,
Americans can independently and quickly organize local groups
under a common banner and a common set of principles to
effectively respond to the situation.
ADF provides a common platform
of American volunteerism that is easily replicated.
Aside
from the Website AmericanDefenseForces.com, there is no
headquarters. If the Website is disrupted, local volunteers
will still be able to operate unhindered.
Question:
If everyone is a volunteer, then why the need for American
Defense Forces?
First, ADF
provides the encouragement and inspiration for Americans to
volunteer for America. Second, ADF provides tools, including ADF's
Online
Community, to help Americans coordinate their volunteer
efforts. And third, ADF provides recommendations that
Americans can use when volunteering. Overall, the ADF "brand"
provides a common theme for Americans to use when volunteering
for America.
(As volunteers, individuals are free to follow
all, some or none of these recommendations when volunteering.
However, volunteers or groups of volunteers not operating in
the spirit of American Defense Forces will not be recognized
on the ADF Website.)
Though
volunteers are not authorized to officially act on ADF's
behalf, there are many ways to advance American Defense Forces' brand
of volunteerism:
 ADF
is seeking volunteers to organize local volunteer groups (by
city, state, ZIP code, geographical area, etc.). For example,
a volunteer organizer in Tucson might call their group "ADF
Tucson."
Local volunteer organizers are
encouraged to create a group in ADF's
Online
Community for volunteers in their area.
Local volunteer organizers are
encouraged to use other means to facilitate coordination and
communication among local volunteers, to include MySpace,
Facebook, Twitter and the creation of traditional Websites for
local volunteers.
Volunteers and volunteer
organizers are free to use the ADF "Vigilant Eagle" logo on
Websites, letterheads, t-shirts etc. in the promotion of their
local volunteer groups. Volunteers are free to use or modify
the "Vigilant Eagle" logo as long as the logo is used in
manners consistent with American Defense Forces overall goals
and in manners that do not parody, impugn or denigrate
American Defense Forces and ADF volunteers. (AmericanDefenseForces.com
/ Eagle Empire LLC retains the copyright of the "Vigilant
Eagle" logo.)
Volunteers are encouraged to
wear khaki pants and dark navy shirts when volunteering for
America. ADF-branded clothing coming soon! |
