How To Get Involved
A good place to start is the American Defense Forces Online Community. At the ADF community, patriotic Americans can communicate and coordinate with other patriotic Americans about threats to the United States and how best to respond. Threats to Americans or numerous, and some vary by location. Examples include volunteering to search for a child missing in the wilderness or filling sandbags to help prevent a town from being flooded.
Become an Organizer
ADF is seeking individuals in all ZIP Codes to become local organizers. As an organizer, you will recruit and organize citizens in your area to volunteer for America. You can create a Group for your area in ADF's Online Community, and/or use other marketing resources, including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and creating your own group Website. Once organized, you can lead your group in local activities to help your community. Group Organizer Resources

Using Social Media to Promote ADF
Following are tips and techniques to use when promoting ADF on the Internet (when either promoting the ADF main site www.americandefenseforces.com or local/group sites).

Vigilant Eagle1. When creating an account/page/network at social media sites such as MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter, etc., keep the name/username as short and easy to remember as possible ( /ADF, /ADF-Phoenix, etc.).
2. Be sure to complete the profile and add pics when available. You can use the Vigilant Eagle logo (right), or variations of the logo for local/group sites.
3. If you have multiple social media sites you can use Ping.fm to update all sites "in a snap."
4. You can launch your own social network for your local/group. At Ning.com, for example, you can create a social network site within minutes. PHPFox.com provides software that webmasters can use to set up a community on their own site.
5. Follow the Terms of Use at social media sites. Do not spam or engage in other violations of "netiquette" - the do's and don'ts of online communication. Be professional.
6. Update your site(s) frequently with unique content. Unique content is picked up more quickly by some Internet search engines, resulting in increased traffic to your site(s).
